Vehicle Manufactures Are Actually Striving To Create Eco-friendly Cars

The more we depend on fossil fuels, the more we will find our environment damaged by its effects. If we look at autos, that is somewhere we can start to see shifts. In an attempt to address the problem with fuel emissions, auto makers are setting out to build more cars that will not harm the environment.

There are many different types of these eco friendly cars, the most eco friendly being a car that runs on battery. Since the vehicle is battery powered means doesn’t need for diesel or gasoline. Sounds excellent because it doesn’t require fuel, so you can save money and it’s eco-friendly which is great, but there is a downside. The auto engines themselves are somewhat restrictive right now but the cars are now available to customers. This means that you should recharge the battery after more or less 100 miles, so it doesn’t run very far on one run.

Consumers can as well look at another form of car, the hybrid car. Hybrid vehicles are eco friendly and they are both battery- and gas-powered. Allow me to explain how hybrids really run. It is the power from the battery that is utilized initially by the vehicle. When the hybrid achieves a particular speed, it starts using gasoline, giving the car a lot of power for the highway. The great thing about the hybrid using gasoline is that it recharges the battery automatically, meaning you don’t have to recharge it manually using an outside power source.

There is also another type of automobiles, called plug-in hybrid cars. They work much in the same way as the earlier hybrid car and aren’t detrimental to the environment. Take note, the typical hybrid vehicle does not need to be recharged separately whereas this is not the case with the plug-in hybrid. When it comes to fuel consumption, both types of hybrid cars seem to perform better than your typical car.

A good example of a hybrid car that can give you 50 miles to the gallon is the Prius developed by Toyota. With a price tag approximately $22,000, the Toyota Prius has become a best seller. Toyota is not the only one who is in the hybrid car market, however; Honda introduced the ‘Insight’ and in fact this was the first hybrid to be released to consumers. The Honda Insight was not received in the same fashion as the Prius by Toyota but it opened the consumer market for hybrid cars. A multi-awarded car and priced at approximately $27,000 is the Ford Fusion Hybrid. It is viewed by many as the number one hybrid car in the US. A car which is believed to produce zero emissions whatsoever is the i-MiEV from Mitsubishi. It was among the first electric cars to be created by a Japanese auto company.

We are going to see ongoing development for this type of vehicle and numerous options for buyers looking for cars that are friendly to the environment.
